On March 6, 2024, National Director of Boeing Vietnam – Mr. Michael Nguyen had a working session with Dr. Huynh Phuong Nam, Vice Rector of University of Science and Technology (DUT) – the University of Danang (UD), for cooperation in training, research and recruitment.

Particularly, this is the first time the representative of Boeing Corporation in Vietnam has visited DUT-UD to interview and select students to participate in the internship program in the US.

The program is expected to last for 2 months (1 month in Hanoi and 1 month in the US). Accordingly, selected students have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills into the professional production environment at a world-leading corporation like Boeing.

The Boeing Corporation interviewed 5 students majoring in Mechanical Engineering (specialized in Aerospace Mechanics) who have average grade of 3.5/4, critical thinking, presentation and research abilities, teamwork skills, good English command.

Mr. Michael Nguyen highly appreciated the tradition and training quality of DUT-UD. He also hoped to open more opportunities in cooperation between Boeing and DUT-UD.

According to the management board of the Danang High-tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority, the city has just issued an investment registration certificate for the KP VINA Aviation Components Factory (with total investment capital of 20 million USD) to produce and assemble parts for Boeing 787, Boeing 737 Max aircraft. This is a great opportunity for students in the engineering and technology majors of DUT-UD to work for international businesses.

On March 5, 2024, Sankyu Group and Hanabi Company (Japan) also came to explore cooperation and recruit human resources at the Faculty of Water Works Construction of DUT-UD.

According to Mr. Miura Hideki, Head of Overseas Development Department of Hashimotogumi Company under Sankyu Group, the business’s need to recruit human resources in engineering and technology industries is very big. Appreciating the training programs in the field of construction of DUT-UD, the Japanese partner looks forward to cooperating in training Japanese language and recruiting students to work in Japan this year.
