23/01/2026
In this new development space, Da Nang is facing a great opportunity to break through and affirm its role as a growth pole in the Central and Central Highlands regions. To realize this aspiration, the key and decisive factor is human development, training high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of the strategic pillars and breakthroughs identified in the Resolution of the First Congress of the City Party Committee.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of The University of Danang (UD):
Affirming its role as the "cradle" for human resource training.
The Resolution of the First Congress of the City Party Committee emphasized three strategic breakthroughs, with the development of science and technology , innovation, and digital transformation, coupled with the training and development of high-quality human resources, playing a central role. It is clear that all development strategies revolve around people; people are both the goal and the driving force of sustainable development.
In the context of Da Nang shaping new pillars of development such as innovation centers, financial centers, high-tech centers, digital economies, green economies, and deep international integration, the demand for human resources goes beyond professional qualifications and requires global thinking, creativity, digital skills, and cultural identity. In response to this demand, the University of Da Nang clearly defines its mission as a leading center for training, scientific research, and knowledge transfer in the region, playing a core role in the city's human resource development strategy.
The University of Da Nang is implementing a comprehensive set of new policies and initiatives to improve the quality of its training. The focus is on innovating the curriculum towards interdisciplinary approaches, linking training with the practical needs of the labor market and the city's key economic sectors; expanding high-quality and international programs; and strengthening cooperation with businesses to ensure students learn through practice and become familiar with the professional environment early on.
Developing high-quality human resources is not solely the responsibility of the education sector; it requires the concerted efforts of the entire political system, the business community, and society. A close connection between schools, the government, businesses, and scientists will create a sustainable training and innovation ecosystem, meeting the requirements of Da Nang's rapid and sustainable development in the new era.
With a long-term vision, clear strategy, and the support of the city, Da Nang University is gradually asserting its role as a "cradle" for training high-quality human resources, making a significant contribution to realizing the aspiration of building Da Nang into a livable, knowledge-rich, distinctive, and prosperous city.

Developing Da Nang into a high-knowledge center
Da Nang city currently possesses a political, economic, and social foundation that brings together many "golden factors" enabling it to develop into a "high-knowledge" center in the Central region.
Specifically, regarding the living and working environment, Da Nang is a livable coastal city, renowned on the world map for its high-quality tourism and resort offerings. In recent years, the city has built many modern, high-quality urban infrastructures to serve as residences for foreign experts and businesspeople, as well as workplaces and factory locations for high-tech enterprises. This is a golden factor, along with other conditions, to develop a local area into a high-level knowledge center in several countries around the world.
In addition, socio-economic policy factors are also a key factor. 2025 marks a turning point as the city has issued numerous policies and regulations with special and groundbreaking incentive schemes to attract innovative, high-tech businesses, experts, and scientists to live and work there.

In particular, regarding its global knowledge ecosystem, with numerous universities and major technology companies located within the city, Da Nang is undergoing a strong transformation to develop into a world-class innovation hub in Asia. This includes the Da Nang University City project in Ngu Hanh Son ward, funded by the Government and the World Bank, and expected to be completed in 2027.
In September 2025, the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation selected UD as one of four universities to receive key investment as a model for the Vietnamese education system. The goal is for these four universities to be ranked among the top 150 in Asia by 2030 (according to prestigious global university rankings). This is a crucial factor in attracting domestic and international experts and scientists to live and work in a high-level knowledge center.
