Creating opportunities for students to gain experience, internships, and academic exchange abroad

07/05/2025

Recently, the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Science and Technology - the University of Danang (UD) organized a program enabling nearly 100 students to participate in experiential learning, internships, and academic exchange activities in Thailand and Laos.

According to Dr. Le Minh Son, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, this initiative was enthusiastically embraced by students as it allowed them to broaden their knowledge and perspectives in both professional and cultural aspects on the journey to explore the unique architectural works and heritages of the two countries in the ASEAN region.

From Vientiane and Mukdahan to Nakhon Phanom, each destination offered valuable lessons in culture, history, and architecture. Iconic landmarks such as the majestic That Luang Tower, the ancient Wat Sisaket, and the serene religious sites in Thailand provided students and lecturers with unforgettable stories, insights, and emotional experiences, a student representative shared.

In addition to specialized training and hands-on practice, the delegation from the Faculty of Architecture also visited and engaged in collaborative discussions with the Faculty of Architecture at the National University of Laos in Vientiane.

Associate Prof.Dr. Soukanh Chithpanya, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the National University of Laos, expressed hope that the two sides would formalize their cooperative spirit through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), leveraging each institution’s strengths in training and research, while highlighting the cultural essence associated with architectural education. He also emphasized the importance of contributing to the strong, time-honored friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Knowledge is not only acquired through books but also through integration with regional and global trends. These international opportunities allow students to “travel a day, learn a basket of knowledge”, while promoting Vietnamese culture to international friends.
