Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Russian Language Faculty, UD-UFLS: A Journey of Spreading Knowledge and Connecting Traditional Vietnamese-Russian Friendship and Culture

On October 11, 2025, The University of Danang (UD) - University of Foreign Languages Studies (UFLS) hosted the ceremony celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Russian Language Faculty (1985–2025) and 50 years of teaching and learning Russian at the university.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of UD - UFLS, this is a milestone event in the series of celebrations marking the university’s 40th anniversary, with core departments such as the Russian Language Faculty.

Russian is not just a foreign language, but a bridge of knowledge and a thread connecting the traditional friendship and culture between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Russia, which must be cherished, preserved, and promoted.

Attending and congratulating the event, Ms. Mizova Maria – Consul General of the Russian Federation in Danang – shared that the achievements of the Russian Language Faculty at UD - UFLS vividly demonstrate the traditional friendship between the two countries.

The Consulate General of the Russian Federation hopes that the university and the Russian Language Faculty will continue to pay attention to and promote the development of cultural and linguistic exchange between the two nations.

In a solemn, warm, and proud atmosphere, generations of teachers and students of the Russian Language Faculty gathered to share memorable moments from their 40-year journey.

Ms. Luu Thi Thuy My, Deputy Head of the Russian Language Faculty, shared that today's generation of the department deeply appreciates and is grateful to the pioneering teachers who laid a solid foundation for the Faculty, overcoming early hardships to achieve its current status and accomplishments.

Over four decades of building and development, the Russian Language Faculty has trained nearly 3,000 full-time students and tens of thousands of learners in various programs, making significant contributions to education, tourism, and social development. The Faculty has affirmed its position as one of the leading centers for Russian language training in Central Vietnam and the entire country.
