On January 29, 2026, at the UniVentures 2025 Gala Dinner, two student startup projects from the University of Danang - Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (UD-VKU) secured places in the Top 10 among nearly 1,500 entries nationwide. Each project received US$25,000 in development funding.

UniVentures 2025, organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in partnership with Singapore Global Network, Golden Gate Ventures, IBM, Google Cloud, and Reactor School, aims to identify and nurture young entrepreneurial talent.

The two award-winning VKU projects are ShieldNet, a multi-layered AI system for cybersecurity, and MediPath, a digital assistant designed to support doctors and patients throughout clinical workflows.

Both projects leverage artificial intelligence and digital technologies to address real-world challenges, including protecting internet users from harmful content and streamlining hospital administration. The teams have previously earned recognition in national startup and innovation competitions.

As part of the award, the VKU teams will join an intensive incubation program at HUB Ho Chi Minh City, where they will refine their technologies, business models, and commercialization strategies, and gain access to mentors, investors, and the regional startup ecosystem.

In addition to VKU’s success, a team from the UD – Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) also reached the Top 30 with BINKS – Botanical Colors, competing in the Young Enterprise category. With three projects advancing to the final round, UD students continue to demonstrate strong potential in Vietnam’s startup landscape.
