Students of University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang won the first prize in “Automation Project-based Learning” Competition 2020

Recently, in the final round of the “Automation Project-based Learning” Competition 2020 held in Ho Chi Minh City, the students team from University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang (DUT-UD) excellently won the first prize.

At this national-level innovative and creative playground, the students team from the DUT-UD demonstrated their mindset and programming capacity (on Rockwell Automation Kit) and finally surpassed 30 other teams from engineering – technology universities nationwide.

The students team from DUT-UD won the trophy.

Thanks to their creativity, the DUT-UD’s team of students including Nguyen Dac Quy, Nguyen Vo Khanh Toan was honored to receive the trophy of the Competition. In addition, another team also from the DUT-UD including Le Minh Phong and Le Thi Truc excellently won the 3rd prize of this Competition.

The 2nd prize went to 2 teams from the HCMC University of Industry and the HCMC University of Technology and Education. The 3rd prize was awarded to 2 teams from the DUT-UD (above-mentioned) and HCMC University of Industry.

The Competition was held within the framework of BUILD-IT Project (Building University – Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology in Vietnam in STEM fields) which is jointly organized by the Arizona State University (USA) in collaboration with leading Vietnamese universities and international well-known corporations (Rockwell Automation, Polyco), thereby helping students to access the latest and most advanced technology and facilities which are applied and produced in enterprises.

DUT-UD has applied innovative methods in teaching and learning.

The 1st prize for the champion from the DUT-UD includes: 2 scholarships (worth $500/each), an online training course of Rockwell Automation Corporation, a voucher to buy electronic products (worth $500) and free-of-charge internship (4 months) at Solar cell factory, First Solar Group, HCMC.

This achievement is one of many outstanding results of the DUT-UD in its innovative teaching and learning which applied positive methods of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
