Strengthening joint-research collaboration between Kalasin University and the University of Da Nang

 

On March 6th 2017, the University of Da Nang (UD) and Kalasin University (KSU) officially signed a memorandum of cooperation.

"This signed memorandum will contribute to the joint research and academic affairs between two sides" - Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam stressed.

Kalasin University was formerly Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Kalasin Campus, RMUTI KC. Now the Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Kalasin Campus (RMUTI KC) was combined with Kalasin Rajabhat University to be the newest university in Thailand called "Kalasin University". In the past, RMUTI KC had the intensive cooperation with UD.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam said that inn cooperation with Thailand, UD had signed memorandum of cooperation with many universities and research institutes, including: Mahasarakham University, Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, Khon Kaen University, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, Nakhon Phanom University, Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University, etc.

As for the international cooperation of KSU, Prof. Sukchai Charoenviachat shared that every year KSU received many students for graduate school. Therefore, UD can send lecturers and students to study and research at the KSU. In addition, this partnership also facilitates the exchange of students and cultural and language exchange programs.

The MOU also allows the two sides to jointly seek and implement joint research projects, especially in the field of high-tech agriculture which is the strong major of Kalasin University is agricultural engineering.

Kalasin University also recommend to cooperate with UD to organize the Bachelor of Arts in English and the Bachelor of Business Administration in the framework of 2+2 and two sides both confer degree for Thai students (2 years studying in KSU and 2 Year in UD, then graduates in KSU). KSU also wants to develop a Vietnamese language center. This program will be discussed in details with University of Economics and University of Foreign Language Studies.

At the meeting, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Trang – Vice Head of Office of Science & International Cooperation, University of Foreign Languages Studies said that in March, students in the fields of English, International Studies and English for specific purposes would have a study tour in Thailand. The signing ceremony with Kalasin University today will facilitate further expansion of internship opportunities for students of University of Foreign Languages Studies in the future.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Sukchai Charoenviachat would like to invite leaders of UD to visit and work at Kalasin University.
